Elka Veselinova's path in the world of fine arts began five years ago, born from the greatest test of her life - the loss of her husband. At this crucial moment, painting became not just a hobby, but a therapeutic refuge and a means of survival, allowing the artist to transform the immense pain into new, living worlds. As a self-taught artist, she does not follow academic canons or pre-drawn stylistic frameworks. Her art is guided solely by intuition, raw emotion and a deep sensory connection with the surrounding world. Finding adherence to a single style limiting, she constantly experiments with textures and materials. Her canvases often bring to life unconventional materials such as wool (the “wool painting” technique), Scandinavian moss, lace, textiles, and natural elements such as pebbles and seashells. This eclectic approach gives her works a specific relief and tangible physicality. Despite her relatively short creative career, she already has one solo exhibition and numerous participations in group exhibitions in Bulgaria. International recognition comes quickly — she is a winner of the prestigious Golden Time Talent competition, a participant in a festival in London and a regular author in the selections of the Golden Duck Gallery in Budapest (physical and digital exhibitions with a jury). Her works have been presented to the public in galleries in New York, Vienna and Budapest, and her creative profile was published in issue 42 of the international magazine Visual Art Journal. Her art is a personal and multi-layered story about the resilience of the human spirit, the transformation of darkness into color, and the constant search for a new identity beyond the boundaries of reality.
