A young Black person with short hair and closed eyes, head slightly lowered in a calm, meditative pose. The expression is peaceful, like they’re breathing, praying, or going inward. Over the mouth, nose, and neck is a flowing, dark, earthy texture — almost like soil, roots, or smoke. Inside it you can faintly see the shape of a fish/snake-like creature. It feels like words, spirit, or life force rising up and being held in. Growing from the center of the chest is a single white flower with green leaves. It looks like it’s blooming directly from the body/earth. That contrast of dark texture vs. pure white flower is the heart of the piece. It’s about inner growth. The earth on the face could be voice, pain, or ancestry being transformed. And the flower at the chest shows that even when we’re quiet or closed off, life and beauty are still growing inside us.This would work so well as album art, a poetry book cover, or a statement wall piece
