Anna Rubina is an artist working in various forms of artistic expression, such as oil painting, mosaics, and graphics. Through a dialogue between emotion and psyche, the artist explores archetypes and the hidden structures of the unconscious, revealing layers of perception that lie beneath rational thought. Her work investigates the tension between inner limitations and the human capacity for transformation, suggesting that art can become a space where boundaries dissolve and new possibilities of being emerge. Anna's life circumstances have taken her to many countries both during her studies and in her subsequent work. Having lived in Russia, the USA, the Netherlands, France, and Germany, her interest has also been in exploring the unifying elements of different cultures as well as the deeply rooted characteristics that make us part of a particular collective identity. Themes of cultural identity, ancestral heritage, and the interaction of personal and social constructs are part of the artist's creative exploration as well. Anna draws inspiration from many post-impressionist artists, especially the Fauves and expressionists. Semi-abstract paintings with rich colors and color contrasts are her main medium in painting. Anna is equally attracted to the concise, strict, and conventional language of graphics. In her works, she often uses methods such as cardboard engraving, stencil printing, and collage. Anna's past experiences have predetermined her focus in art on self-discovery. She invites viewers to embark on their own journey of introspection and self-exploration.
