This group portrait was selected by the jury of the National Salon of Contemporary Art whose theme was “Survival” and was exhibited at the Museum of Romanian Literature. Survival in the present is nothing more than a reiteration of emotional survival in time, since the beginning of humanity. Emotion, immateriality, accompanies us in all conditions, represents our continuity. Moreover, it transcends individuals and time. And when we will be connected to technological extensions, the essence will still be about human experiences aroused by these connections. I believe that there will be no ideal physical and mental shelter – the world in people’s souls will be the same, recurring, like a mole day, condemned to keep repeating itself in another context but with the same purpose, that of experimenting. Valences of survival, even in dramatic forms, are revealed to us every day. In this idea of continuity over time, we reiterated the theme of sacrifice and betrayal, addressed by Caravaggio in the work "Kiss of Judas", with a relocation to a nursing home, where Jesus is old and Judas is the guardian meant to protect him but who is actually the one who sells him and puts him in the position of the ultimate sacrifice. We largely preserved the physical structure of the characters precisely to emphasize their correspondence with those of the 21st century. A kind of connection is created between old masters and old people who, why not, come to teach us, to reconfirm, that we are not alone neither in good nor in bad, we have those from the past with us.
