A cry against the dysfunctionality of many aspects of modern society. A call to address technological evolution, human ignorance, and the overwhelming amount of information overload we are subjected to today through technology. The chaos present in modern society is represented by the agitation of grotesque subjects who seem unable to find peace, with the “dictator” (the large beetle on the left giving orders) being the one who administratively organizes this chaos. The presence of creatures that have metamorphosed between different species, having lost their genetic identity and become a product different from what they once were, represents the genetic modification of organisms. The fury of nature is present everywhere, but best represented by the “tree with eyes” that observes everything and is on the verge of collapsing and self-destructing. Inspired by Huxley’s Brave New World, this painting represents the voice of those who feel wronged, of those who want to make a change and do everything possible to save humanity.
