This work is a painterly reflection on the duality of human nature and the social masks we wear to meet external expectations. The distinct compositional divide illustrates the contrast between the idealized public sphere (the titular "facade") and the dark, carefully guarded realm of privacy. This work questions the cost of maintaining an illusion of order and the isolation of the individual who hides their authentic emotions behind a barrier of appearances. It is a study of the boundary between what we reveal to the world and what remains in the shadows.
