Behind the Scenes contrasts a traditional painted sunset on one side with a textured, sculptural depiction on the other - wooden forms and ropes symbolizing what lies beneath the surface. This duality is a reflection on our selective attention: we admire nature’s beauty while ignoring the destruction we cause. The work critiques environmental neglect and challenges viewers to look beyond appearances - to what’s often left unseen, unspoken, or unwanted. The interplay of light and 4D materials invites the surrounding space into the painting, casting real-time shadows that evolve with the viewer’s perspective.

- Teodora Jurić-Miljuš (b. 1985, Bern, Switzerland) is a Serbian contemporary artist known for her work in painting, assemblage, and art installations. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade (2008) and an active member of the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia (ULUS) since 2010. Teodora’s artistic journey began with a deep exploration of the female body, emotions, and psychological states, expressed through abstract expressionism. Her early works featured dynamic brushwork and bold color palettes, capturing the complexity of human emotions. In the mid-2010s, she expanded her practice to include assemblages and installations, merging acrylic painting with materials such as wood, plastic, and cotton. This fusion of traditional and 3D elements lends her work a distinctive texture and depth. A strong advocate for sustainability, she frequently incorporates recycled natural materials, highlighting the interplay between art and the environment. Beyond painting, Teodora is also involved in graphic design and jewelry design, continuously expanding her creative expression across multiple disciplines. Solo exhibitions> 2007.
