Bernette Derpaulian studied at the renowned Chouinard Art Institute, (now CalArts) and is a portrait, figurative, animal artist. She has exhibited locally and online. Also her artwork is in private collections. She lives in Long Beach, California. "Oil pastels are my favorite medium to work in. My interest is in capturing that ephemeral moment in time that tells a story. It may just be about how the light falls on a subject, or the mood and energy that the subject projects."
