Bernette Derpaulian studied at the renowned Chouinard Art Institute, (now CalArts) and is a portrait, figurative, animal artist. She works in oil pastels, and has exhibited locally and online. Also her artworks are in private collections. " My interest is in capturing that ephemeral moment in time that tells a story. It may just be about how the light falls on a subject, or the mood and energy that the subject projects."
