I have become fascinated with how much joy, energy and vibration can be expressed through a bird. There is such a vast variety of different appearances, colours and emotions. As such, they have become the perfect messengers for my work. I want to spread joy and transmit energy through my paintings in a way that the viewer becomes emotionally touched. I choose birds not only because of their symbolic value but also because it is an exciting way to bridge nature and the human emotion. I have developed a technique based on the study of colourists and abstract movements of the brush that can mimic the movement of a feather, thereby capturing the charisma and symbolism of the bird. Adding to that is the playful use of colour to create excitement about the bird's appearance and personality in a way that makes it personal and radiate a new perspective on their beauty.
