"Whispers of the Unspoken is a digital collage where I explore the construction of identity through the juxtaposition of visual elements that oscillate between the ancestral and the contemporary. Using an old photograph of two Japanese women as a starting point, I intervene the image with vibrant colors, floral patterns, and hand-drawn marks, creating a dialogue between past and present.
Between the two figures, the word love emerges—an unspoken whisper of affection, nostalgia, and tenderness; a hidden declaration that seems to transcend time. Surrounding them, ghosts, masks, and demons appear: manifestations of hidden emotions, inherited fears, and shadows that have walked with us through the centuries. By giving them space, I seek to honor them, acknowledging that they are part of our story and that embracing them is a form of healing.
Whispers of the Unspoken is an homage to the lives of the past, a glance into other worlds, and an attempt to bring them into ours, giving voice to what has been forgotten through color, texture, and contrast."
