I began painting quite late, in my mid-30s. I studied art at the Arthouse in Ljubljana. After finishing my studies, I devoted more than ten years to mural painting, contemporary murals, all over Slovenia and abroad. Since the birth of my child, I have concentrated more on painting in watercolour and acrylic. I run my own art school and teach techniques that include watercolour and acrylics. Nature is my main motif, as I have a deep connection with it. Not only do my paintings depict nature, but they are also an entry into a magical world that cannot be seen, but must be felt. I have exhibited many solo shows here in Slovenia, but I have also participated in many group exhibitions abroad. I have been awarded many prizes for my watercolour works from abroad. In the recent Women in Watercolour competition, my painting Eternal Garden was among the top ten. I exhibited in Art Expo Paris 2025 and I regularly exhibit in Thomson Gallery Zug, Swiss, Andakulova Gallery Dubai, Nicoleta Gallery Berlin, Casa dell' Arte Palma,... We are living in a society where there is a lot of talk about values and respect, but it is just a facade. Behind the scenes, hidden from view, it is anything but what we are being told. I see the way out of all this chaos in my inner peace, which helps me to achieve clarity. The only way out is to work on myself and to grow as a person. My paintings offer a multidimensional field of purity that fills the viewer with inner peace and beauty. If one allows themself to open their heart, they can truly see the painting, new world is revealed. Let me finish with a quote I got in a message from a friend from Japan: " Your art coexists with nature. And it seems like they are becoming one with nature and expressing themselves. I feel a very strong vitality and creativity." Katarina Vidmar
