Dimensions: 60 x 90 cm; Media: Photography and digital art printed on plexiglass transparent; Country of origin: FRANCE; Year of creation: 2023; Description: Work presented from the series “Abrasion” States of Light. My “Abrasion” series is a journey into the decomposition of the colors of the white light spectrum, in different places and at different times of day. By adjusting my camera body, I seek to distort light waves to extract the colors of white light through the succession of lenses in my lens. These shots are then reworked in digital art to harmonize the colors. This series explores the genesis of light, its interaction with water and air, revealing intimate and mysterious aspects of our environment. In my work, I use the color histogram to establish an analogy between a place and its environment, like an identity card through the nature of light and its colors. From the dominant violet of London (one of the symbols of violet is royalty), through the bright colors of Collioure (a favorite town of the Fauvist school) to the pale green of the Côte de Jade in France. A process that transcends visual aspects to offer a deeper reflection on the relationship between light and its environment. These series are printed on 0.5 cm thick transparent Plexiglas. This contemporary support adds a slight depth to the image, faithfully respecting the luminosity and colors captured at the time of shooting. A contemporary support that acts as the last lens in my photographic lens before reaching the diaphragm of the viewer's eye, the ultimate actor. Myriam Véjus
