Hello, I am a French artist born on 1 April 1977 in Lyon. I started photography in my first year of applied arts at the age of 15, back in the days of film photography. I used to experiment in the darkroom. From then on, photography became a constant in my life, a passion I pursued alongside my career as a decorator and designer in an architecture firm for many years. The advent of digital technology was an extraordinary opportunity for me to broaden my artistic horizons. In 2018, I left my life in mainland France and decided to move to Guadeloupe for three years, a period devoted to inner work, combined with in-depth photographic and artistic research. While in most of my series, light is a tool for highlighting my subjects, in 2021, light became the subject of study with the creation of my series ‘Abrasion’ states of light. This series was born on Babin Beach in Guadeloupe. One evening, I went out to take a photo of the sunset and, while trying to take a selfie, I noticed colours on my phone screen that were imperceptible to the naked eye. This gave me the idea of working with light waves by adjusting the camera settings to extract the colours from the light, both visible and invisible, and thus penetrate the spectrum of white light, then rework the resulting image using digital tools. At the end of 2021, I returned to France and established myself as an artist and author, while also working as a photographer and decorator at a museum in Lyon. I began to showcase my artistic work while continuing to work on my ‘Abrasion’ series. This series is an exploration of the light of the world, in the form of travel journals from Guadeloupe, France, Italy, England,Switzerland, Greece... wherever my travels took me. It is a constant quest based on experimental photography, between our tangible, scientific reality and the presumption of mysterious, imperceptible dimensions. It is an incursion between matter and spirit, between locality and identity, between science and unconsciousness.
