Dimensions: 44.5cm x 56.5cm x 4cm (framed A3 Print); Media: Digital Art - Blending Photos and textures with Emotions; Country of origin: England; Year of creation: 2021; Description: “Breaking Free” is a raw and visceral visual metaphor for personal liberation. In this piece, I explore the quiet violence of conformity — the invisible constraints imposed by expectation, fear, and self-doubt. The central figure emerges from fractured textures and ghosted layers, as if tearing through the surface of a world that no longer fits. There is struggle here, but also a rising — a moment of transformation captured in mid-motion.
I used a combination of a model stock photograph, digitality blending textures, and hand-drawn overlays to build this work, allowing each layer to speak to the complexity of becoming. The result is emotionally charged — not polished or perfect — but deliberately unfiltered. Because breaking free is never clean. It's messy, aching, and necessary.
This piece is a statement for anyone who has ever felt too much, too different, or not enough. It's a reminder that our most authentic selves live just beyond the breaking point — waiting to be claimed.
