My attraction to nature and plants can be explained in the same way as my attraction to the built environment. We superseded nature by our built habitat and then we put it back into our spaces in little pots with soil in it. Orchids are the typical example for that, except that fact this plant is not even a native spice of the climate I’m living in. I have many of them and I’m always trying to keep it alive again and again. But what is this obsession? In recent years, I have used OSB as a basis. By retracting the paint layers, I use the texture of the veneer as part of my compositions to create a unique rustic industrial atmosphere. Due to the OSB board, these works of art are very stable but heavy. This is recycled art.
