Our Lady of the Lightning. The image of the Immaculate Conception is found in the historic Temple of Jesús María in Guadalajara. Our Lady, under this title, is shown to be a special protector and patroness of pregnant women, the unemployed, and the blind.
She was named Our Lady of the Lightning after the two lightning strikes that struck the image in the Dominican monastery, an event that resonates as a call and as a welcoming embrace. The first lightning strike left the image completely burned and destroyed; the second came to miraculously restore it, and, at the same time, one of the nuns who was gravely ill received healing at the very moment of the prodigy.
Our Lady of the Lightning, we love you. Thank you. Cover us with your mantle. Pray for us!
