NEOILLUSION
This is a work from the ILLUSION: EMOTION series.
As a work exploring recurring forms and the emotions revealed within them, the entire canvas was filled with flowers, lines, and textured surfaces. Although similar-looking shapes repeat, if you look closely, you can see that they continue in slightly different forms. It brings to mind that the repeated moments and emotions we encounter in everyday life are not exactly the same.
The face, divided between several pieces and not fully revealed, signifies the increasingly revealed image of “oneself” within a recurring flow. The flowers and lines filling the surroundings surround the figure while also continuing in a connected manner, showing a relationship in which emotion and environment influence and are influenced by one another.
The contrast between the intense red and the black lines leaves a profound impression, and within it tension and flow coexist with the recurring patterns, while within them quiet changes emerge. It is about discovering new sensations even within the familiar, and capturing the changing emotions and the passage of time little by little through repetition.
