Katarzyna Stefaniak is a painter, who create oil paintings and abstract watercolour landscapes. She likes oil paints for the ability to mix colors for a long time. And watercolors, on the other hand, for their unpredictability. She was always fascinated by colours, light and shapes, particularly as found in nature. Nature is her inspiration, with its calming potential and richness. Her paintings are a way to pause, take a breath, and enjoy a moment of silence. Like she says: this is what is missing in the hustle and bustle of modern cities.” Her artworks are an invitation to unhurried rest. But in many of Stefaniak’s paintings, there’s a combination of calmness and dynamics, like waves or strong, dynamic colors, for example, reds. Calm and movement. Often, even with a peaceful nature theme, there are strong emotions, though from a bit of a distance. The term "calm storm" suits them, she said. „It seems to me that it might be an attempt to show strong emotions and forces within us that aren’t always visible outwardly, but also a desire to experience them without destruction.” She take a part in 8 exhibitions in Poland, Italy, Great Britain and USA. Her paintings are in private collections in Poland and Germany.
