The Egg Dreams series stems from a simple yet ritualistic gesture: placing painted eggshells on paper. The egg touches the surface, leaves a trace and disappears. A stain remains, an imprint, the beginning of an image. From this inspiring contact, I then build dream landscapes, fragile spaces, by pouring colored inks and using a crayon.
The egg in the series is not used as a decorative motif, but as a symbol of creation: a shell and a shelter, a boundary and a promise, something closed that carries within itself the possibility of life. The eggshell adds to this a layer of ritual, color, celebration and heritage. When I use it as a painting tool, it becomes at once an object, a matrix and a body that gives birth to an image.
