Inspired by Japanese and 18th-century woodcuts, I created a series of four works titled 'ONe_0'. I sought to draw from their calmness, delicacy, and precision. In this instance, I aimed to sidestep my usual intuitiveness and expressiveness.
Behind the geometric form, the central composition shows a calm figure.
This calm figure is full of emotions, which can be seen quite sparingly in the movement of her body and hands, but are extremely buzz all around.
I tried to make the subtle line of the pencil and abstract, but legible typographic forms tell, and record - not only the body text but the countless emotions of small moments in life.
Expressive, often spontaneous spots of oil pastels rubbed by hand and lines of intense black, orange, red and pink - not only show the rawness of these moments but also the need to pour them out of myself.
