- Shannon Hack
- Shannon Hack is a mixed media artist primary focused in metals but will incorporate any medium or technique to best bring a piece to life. Originally from New Jersey; she grew up outside Seattle and moved to Arizona in 2012. Relocating afforded her opportunities that were otherwise out of reach as a single mother raising a special needs child. In the years since she transplanted, she’s earned an associate degree in fine arts from Chandler-Gilbert Community College and studied at Arizona State University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in art studies. It was during her first semester at ASU that she became drawn to a career in public art while taking an architectural sculpture class. From there, she took classes in multiple specialties to acquire an array of skills to enhance her artistic practice. Over the last few years, she has had the privilege of participating in dozens of exhibitions, at multiple locales including Arizona Capital Museum, Roche Tissue Diagnostics, Tubac Center for the Arts, and most recently with the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. She volunteers with Scottsdale Arts where she assists with workshops/activities at Canal Convergence. She was awarded the opportunity to participate in an internship for NASA’s Psyche Mission where she engaged the public through four unique creative, artistic works, using different aspects of the Psyche mission to influence the works to make the mission more accessible to the public, and wrote explanations for creative projects to convey complex topics and messages to a larger audience.
