I painted this picture at the beginning of March, I wanted it to show how I perceive a woman on the occasion of International Women's Day.
A woman, although soft and gentle like the alabaster statue that we admire, carries her sufferings and pains at the same time. Due to an ancient enemy, who is jealous of her beauty and status, she experiences various forms of oppression throughout history, which is why her senses are partially covered by a red stain like suffering. However, this injustice does not destroy her, but becomes the source of something very precious, priceless treasure, which is symbolized by the color gold. Through pain, a woman gives birth - children, social relationships, new projects - she brings life. The life-giving force is represented by the green color in the background. Finally, the red roses at her side are flowers that a woman often receives from a man as a sign of respect and love. My husband has been bringing home one rose for me since we started dating, and it always makes me so happy. They are elegant flowers, the red ones also carry passion. The symbolism of thorns returns again to the suffering that belongs to the beauty of femininity. And just as a woman is fragile and strong at the same time, green and red complement each other well on the canvas. And I also don't want to forget the hints of blue on the roses, which is a reference to Mother Mary, the greatest woman of all.
