Kolyadki are traditional Slavic ritual songs sung during the Christmas season, especially on Christmas Eve (January 6th in the Orthodox tradition). These songs are part of folk customs and are performed by groups of people—often children or young adults—who go from house to house singing, dressing in costumes, and bringing blessings for the New Year.
Four figures walking through a snowy forest become symbols of the eternal path. The star in the girl's hands is a sign of light and faith. Bread and rolls are the bounty of the earth and the cycle of life. The snow turns the space into a temple, and the golden sunset into a promise of renewal. Here the folk tradition finds the voice of eternity.
